Nick - Jacksonville, FL

I am definitely not a car guy. Sure, I definitely have a general idea of changing tires, oil and assorted upkeep, but at the core of my being, I am a Soul Train loving DJ/musician based in Florida that has been head over heels with the aesthetic and overall goodness of the 240 Volvo series since riding in several as a kid (my parents loved them!). I had no idea what nor where to look for when it came to any discrepancies, issues or anything of owning and enjoying a classic car. I knew one thing, however: I wasn’t necessarily into looking through countless car ads online hoping that what they were telling me about this “newly restored, rust free” car were true (only to find out that it wasn’t) nor the pushy nature of the owners and dealers that only looked at me as a sale. This experience happened to me one too many times and I stopped looking altogether for a long while.

That said, I waited over ten years to educate myself and be ready when “McLoughlin”, who randomly came up on an eBay search back in the sweltering summer of 2018, finally came into my life. I was blown away by all of the work that had been put into him via the amazing yet thoroughly detailed pictures. Then, I proceeded to check out the Auslander Instagram and website where I instantly felt as if I’d be a fool if I didn’t snatch up “McLoughlin” right away. He’s been in Florida ever since and I cannot live without him.

Looks certainly weren’t enough, but the ease I felt after Matt of Auslander Volvo voluntarily surrendered all of the information I needed on not only the classic car, but the exciting Volvo restorations he and his team had been up to altogether made me pretty excited and made my want of this car in my life into a dire need.

Of course, I could go on as to how “McLoughlin” ended up with me, but I truly believe the real reason why I decided to buy “McLoughlin” was mainly because of the knowledge, passion and overall biting wit of Matt of Auslander Volvo. THIS MAN KNOWS HIS STUFF!! He has been a godsend and with me every step of the way (even after the purchase) via phone calls or texts in the event of problems that may arise (the car had to deal with a climate change, after all) or victories of the car and in our lives, in general, as we are now friends.

We need more people like Matt. We need more Auslander restored Volvos on the road!

A year and a half in and it’s still one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. I am very grateful that I have crossed paths with Auslander!
